If you wish to be able to write with pleasure to yourself and others, you must be able to do the following things:
1. Call up ideas to express. Ideas are the reason for writing. Unless you have ideas to express, you have nothing to write. No matter what you do all day long, ideas come to you as you go through the day´s experience. Even on your way to school or to the grocery, or even while taking care of the baby, your eyes and ears are open and your mind is active. All your experiences give you ideas.
Remember that you write only to express ideas. So turn on the tap and let ideas flow.
2. Choose appropriate words. Think of the exact words to express your ideas; the vivid words that help others to share your experience; the newer and richer words that may take the place of overworked words. As more and more ideas fill your mind, you build up a rich vocabulary that is useful in expressing those ideas.
3. Build clear-out sentences. Make them say exactly what you mean. Build them correctly so that they are not confusing to others.
4. Avoid monotonous sentences. Try to make each sentence interesting and entertaining. Avoid too many short and choppy ones. To avoid monotony, and different sentence patterns.
5. Read, criticize, and rewrite your own work. Learn to be sharply critical of what you write. Find errors faults, and weaknesses. The rewrite until you have satisfied yourself.
6. Use the tools for writing correctly.
