Hello! Friends :) Today we are going to talk about the traditional " Rosca de Reyes" in Hispanic countries and "Gallette de Rois" in France and francophone countries. Kids love this beautiful tradition that is done January 6th. We celebrate when "Wisemen Day" these three kings traveled from different countries guided by a prophecy and the promise of finding the King of Kings who had been born. They traveled guided by the " Belen Star", they found baby Jesus in a modest farm surrounded by shepherds and little animals, Mary and Joseph taking care of him. The Wisemen brought beautiful baby Jesus gifts. I am Mexican/French/American so in my home, we try to blend the tradition. I love the Mexican tradition of cutting the " Rosca de Reyes" with Family, inside the bread you can find a plastic baby Jesus, the one who gets it will have tonsss of blessings that year and he/she will bring the tamales for a party February 2nd! Day of our Lady Candelaria. As a French my Grand-Mother would make the Galette and she would decorate with us little cardboard crowns, we would wear them and dress us up as wisemen, we did plays and sang chants, we were so many cousins that at the end we finished playing boardgames, the Galette de Rois it's filled with a delicious preparation of butter, almond flour, eggs, sugar, creme, my Grandma " Mami" would serve it with hot cocoa! Both desserts are extremely delicious and awesome! Why not! Have the best of both worlds, you can find them in your favorite bakery or supermarket in case you dont have the time to make it, as I do! But, if you love cooking and have the time! Awesome! Surf for your favorite recipe and have fun with your kids,
Celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessings! Bendiciones! Benedictions!
