A little mouse that lived in the countryside called Luca received a letter from his cousin Thomas, that lived in a big city, he was inviting him to spend a few days with him, in his little cave, in the kitchen of a big palace. The country side little mouse accepted happily the invitation and made his baggage and ran to the airport.
When he arrived in the International Airport, Thomas was waiting for him, they both took a cab and went to the palace. When Luca saw the Kitchen he was impressed by all those delicious types of cheese, big and small, white and yellowish, with holes and without. So delicious! He had never seen so many! When he was ready to eat, Pum! Pam! The guard of the palace arrived, with a thick and big broom, and the mice had to get out in a hurry, leaving that delicious dinner on side.
They ran and they ran, till they could escape. Poor Luca, he was not used to that kind of stress, he couldn't even breath. When he recovered, Thomas invited him to see the view of the city from the top of a building. Luca said to his cousin, " I prefer a little piece of cheese eaten in peace, than the most delicious cheese eaten in a rush, escaping and jumping around".
So that way he returned on the next airplane to his humble and peaceful hole in the beautiful and clean country side.
Teaching Note: If some of your students love drawing make them visualize the story, don't bring images for the story, maybe just a mouse drawing pattern if they need a little help, so they can draw a mouse and the scenarios. Remember to praise and help them, Art is free creativity.
